I ve done the following.
Switch pro controller buttons not working.
Hold the button down for roughly 3 5 seconds.
Locate the small reset button on the back of the ds4 near the l2 shoulder button.
Check the game manual to ensure compatibility with the pro controller.
Reset the pro controller by pressing the sync button once then press any other button to wake it up again.
When i got home and plugged in my pro controller i expected i d do even better thanks to the fact that the pro controller has an actual cross shaped d pad and not four individual buttons.
Once the controller is paired to the console update the firmware.
It handles all of the xinput details itself so connecting the switch pro controller to it with the physical sync button instead of through your pc s bluetooth menu will make it work like an xbox.
If you have passed the button test but still have problems when running certain apps or games you should.
The bumpers on my pro controller have just randomly stopped working.
Checked joycons to see if their bumpers are working.
Next test the pro controller buttons using a compatible game or application and ensure that all buttons are responsive.
If this option is not enabled your pro controller.
Updated the firmware on the controller.
Since most game controller support corresponds to xbox controllers steam will automatically swap the a b x and y inputs since those buttons are in different places on the pro controller.
If the light bar turns blue the ds4 has paired.
Test the button input on the pro controller.
Tested the buttons in the button test in settings system is not reading them.
Connect the ds4 controller to the ps4 using a usb cable and press the ps button.
Un synced and re synced the controller.
If you like your pro controller with flip flopped x y and a b buttons you can also enable the nintendo button layout so games default to it.
If the button test fails skip to situation not resolved.
